The Three GentleBros Thai Drama Review

Synopsis and Plot Summary

The Three GentleBros tells of the love story experienced by three brothers which are divided into 3 different storylines.

Proud mother Pimphattra has three sons namely Itchaya, Thevis, and Ashira from three different fathers. Despite his son’s feelings, Pimphattra already has the plan to match the three of them with a woman he deems worthy of being a daughter-in-law.

But three unexpected women come into his son’s life and harass him.

The first story “According to the Will of the Heart”. This story tells about Itchaya who has been abandoned by her birth mother since she was little. Because of that, he was raised by his father and stepmother who always managed him.

Everything Itchaya does will be controlled by her mother so she can’t escape it. One day, Itchaya accidentally gets involved in her father’s affair.

At first, he treats her casually and dispassionately, but one-day Itchaya tries to prevent him from leaving.

The second story “So Far, I’m Yours”. It’s about Tevis desperately wanting a girlfriend who looks nothing like his mother. One day Tevis meets a woman who becomes his target, she is Nuengnareth.

Nuengnareth is a young woman who often fights with her mother, leading Tevis to believe that Nuengnareth looks nothing like her mother. However, he knew that he really made his heart belong to Nuengnareth then and there.

The third story “Unexpected Love”. Ashira wants to be a child who is very similar to her mother. Once upon a time, her mother tried to match Ashira with the daughter of her mother’s close friend.

To refuse this Ashir asks Naveeya, someone, who is outside his mother’s circle to be his fake girlfriend, and according to him, Ashira can leave Naveeya at any time. But in the end, Achir finds himself falling in love with Naveeya.

The Three GentleBros Review

I started this Thai tv series without any expectation because I found it out of nowhere when it was still airing.

It is about a mother who tries to set up her three sons with the girls she thinks are the best for them. But it turns out to be not so easy when they all fall in love with other people.

I’ll admit I decided to watch it mainly because I wanted to see Tay Tawan in a comedy because he never disappoints.

However, I have to say my favorite storyline is Arty, played by Gun Atthaphan, who remains an amazing actor.

I think it’s quite funny how Gun can still play a teenage character when next year he turns 30, but he’s very convincing.

There’s something to be said about actresses playing love interests, too! They carried as many storylines as the main boys. Overall, it’s a very well-defined cast, which works quite well.

The stories are fun to follow, although the way some of them end disappointed me a bit because it felt a bit rushed.

That said, I appreciate how the series has been put together, dedicating six episodes to each of the brothers and their own stories and backstories.

As for acting, all the actors and actresses did well, those with experience gave a very good performance.

The characters have good development, and all the important characters here feel right. I think it’s because the story is divided, so everything gets developed.

All in all, this show has an original concept, great acting, and some decent themes if you know where to find them.

I wish the writing was a bit better to give us more of the unique stories between the brothers. If nothing else, watch the last 6 episodes to see Gun’s storyline, which in my opinion is the best.

My Verdict

Overall, I must say that this is a fairly light and easy-to-follow series, which is always a pleasure to discover. Though I don’t think I’ll be re-watching it anytime soon; the theme song will stay in my head too long. My rating for The Three GentleBros review is 7.8/10
