Love Is All Chinese Drama Review

Synopsis and Plot Summary

The storyline of the Chinese drama Forbidden Love follows the love story and struggles of the quarrelsome couple Tan Ling Yin and Tang Tian Yuan. It’s also about justice

Tang Ling Yin is a unique daughter from a wealthy family whose life is entangled with county magistrate Tang Tian Yuan who is liked by many for being handsome, well-mannered, and has an impressive family background.

The two then start off on the wrong foot but end up joining hands to solve cases and fight for justice and truth.

Love Is All Review (Forbidden Love Chinese Drama)

If you’re looking for a light, relaxed watch that’s relatively drama-free and focuses on romance, Love is All is an adorable historical rom-com.

The series shows how Tan Ling Yin and Tang Tian Yuan solve various criminal cases together, and love and rely on each other along the way.

This relationship was very sweet, especially when Tan Lingyin found out that Tang Tianyuan was actually her childhood idol.

While this drama has its strengths in terms of its main romance, it also suffers from several problems regarding the plot and storyline which are stagnant.

The overall story is good with a decent plot that catches the attention of the audience. Nothing is too upsetting or frustrating with a dash of humor.

This playful edit and comedic humor make heavy use of slapstick comedy and make use of extra-diegetic humorous edits. Overall, this is meant to be a very smooth and funny series, even though the comedy may not be for all audiences.

Also exploring the healthy romance between Hakim and his underlings, this series has a very natural and adorable main love line.

Both Zhang Ruonan and Zhang Haowei have great chemistry together and this shows how Tan Ling Yin and Tang Tian Yuan are not only very innocent in love, but also grow to care deeply for each other in the end.

Tang Tian Yuan also never used his powers to defeat or control Tan Ling Yin, but instead to help him and encourage him to become a better advisor.

Thus, the two characters start off with a contentious relationship, in which Tang Tian Yuan is more careful and strategic, whereas Tan Ling Yin is mischievous and reckless. But even so, the main character’s development is very good and complete.

The side cast, they are cute and lovely. I was surprised by how much I liked some of the supporting characters, and how much life they added to the drama.

I really like Tang Tian Yuan’s brotherly relationship with Zheng Shao Feng, and how the two work together to go after the woman they love.

But what is lacking is that our second male lead or Duan Feng’s character doesn’t get much screen time, he is very handsome as a mischievous bandit and also fun to watch.

For acting, Zhang Ruo Nan and Zhang Hao Wei are a treat to watch. They have good chemistry and are also very suitable as a couple.

However, there are also a few things you might not like about this drama:

Major Logical Inconsistencies. There is a need to watch these shows with a fairly healthy suspension of disbelief, and to not take the play or the show seriously.

A lot of problems from the start, including a character who is supposed to be very smart, but can’t see clearly.

Genre-Mixing is Somewhat Ineffective. Unfortunately, in my opinion, the combination of crime and comedy in this series, moreover, Love is All is more towards the comedy side, working very well together in this drama.

I think the main problem is that the cases themselves seem so insignificant because no one seems to be at serious risk or harm at any time.

Most importantly, it sometimes appears as if the characters, while demonstrating adherence to their moral beliefs, act in an unprofessional manner or set aside their case for their personal lives.

I admit, I also found myself occasionally speeding up the scene where they were discussing the case because I found it a bit uninteresting.

So if you’re looking for a drama that depicts complicated crime scene resolutions with a gripping, gripping story, this isn’t the show for you.

For a “Crime-solving” drama, it can be boring to watch: Unlike other crime dramas, where the villain may be more interesting and give the impression of being “evil” or “dangerous”, this drama never really gets into it.

Having said that, I highly recommend you watch this if you like dramas with the precious romance between the main characters, and you want something light and too much fun.
