The story follows Zhang Chu Lan, an ordinary young man who suddenly becomes entangled in the unprecedented world of “Outsiders” when his grandfather’s body mysteriously disappears.

I Am Nobody is a Chinese drama adapted from the webcomic “I Am Nothing” which is interesting, engaging, and funny. This drama seamlessly blends Wuxia elements, superpower elements, and fantasy in a modern urban setting. It features intense battles, interesting characters, and a mysterious plot that explores a hidden world (outsiders – humans with Qi/power).
The story is definitely one of the most unique stories I have ever seen. Moreover, from the first episode to the last episode, the rhythm is maintained.
There wasn’t a single moment where I felt bored and there wasn’t a single scene where I wanted to skip it or fast forward. Lately, I often skip scenes if the drama is boring, but this isn’t that kind of drama. It helped me understand how much I could enjoy it!!!
The plot of the series is fast-paced, keeping viewers on the edge of their seats and enticing people to want to know more about what is going to happen. Even though the pace is fast, the story still unfolds in a relaxed and unhurried manner, still explaining the characters, background, and dynamics of their relationship.
Additionally, the drama focuses on every detail of the martial arts or superpowers they have, like explaining it to people like us, who have no knowledge about it.
This is what makes you even more interested in the drama. You may not understand some terms at first, but as the episode progresses, you will understand everything.
I really liked the way they explained the evil “outsiders” would be punished, although they didn’t show how they were punished, the explanation itself was quite satisfying.
This drama also tries to make you laugh even though the atmosphere is filled with tension and violence. And all the credit goes to Zhang Chu Lan and Feng Bao Bao as well as the production team.
It’s not easy to show a funny scene when the entire scenario is supposed to be the main part of the story. Double thanks to them for not making it awkward and making us feel comfortable and enjoy even the most serious parts of the story.
The characters in the C-drama I am Nobody are well designed, not only the main characters, the supporting characters are no less impressive and there are many more.
Each character has their own unique strengths and motivations, the character dynamics also make the story more enjoyable.
The portrayal of the characters is also conveyed realistically, each actor manages to imbue his character with character traits, nuance, and emotional depth, so it is very worth watching.
Oh, what should I say about the acting, I can feel (I made it happen) that the actors in this drama are so good and maybe I will look forward to more projects from now on from them.
Everyone had a great performance overall on the show. Especially Wang Ying Lu, she is very cute and fierce at the same time.
In the Martial Arts section and Visual Effects are the heart of this drama because without good choreography and effects, this drama will not be alive. There may be no science in the story but who cares if the story isn’t boring and makes you wonder what will happen next.
Most of the quality of the CGI is commendable, it has fluid action sequences with stunning visuals that bring their powers and fights to life.
Although I am Nobody offers an exciting viewing experience, it also has its own complexities. The plot can be convoluted at times, and viewers may need to pay close attention to follow the evolving narrative. But for me, it’s not a problem because I’m used to watching it!
Despite its slight flaws, I am Nobody manages to capture the essence of the source material very well. This drama is probably one of the best dramas adapted from a webcomic, staying true to the original essence of the webcomic.
