Scent of Time Chinese Drama Review and Ending Explained

Synopsis and Plot Summary

The story follows Hua Qian, a hardworking young woman who suddenly awakens in a past era due to transmigrating into a novel she was reading all night. The unfortunate thing was that Hua Qian was in a cruel supporting role.

Now a side character in the novel, the modern-day girl must face her treacherous father and playboy brother.

What’s worse, “this character” has done all kinds of bad things in the early part of the story, so her intention to ensure her character lives until the end can only be described as a long and arduous path.

Only after adapting did Hua Qian realize that some things could be easily changed. Will this “evil” supporting character without an action halo survive?

Scent of Time Chinese Drama Ending Explained

Scent of Time Chinese drama has a happy ending. At the end of the episode, Hua Rongzhou manages to find Hua Qian, fulfilling his mission. He declared, “I finally fulfilled my wish and found Hua Qian,” and then disappeared before his eyes.

Initially believing that she has changed her destiny, Hua Qian awakens from a dream within a dream, realizing her parents are still alive, and she has returned to her past.

In this new reality, Hua Qian discovered that, in fact, she was already married to Zhong Xi Wu, and not Zhong Ye Lan. Despite initially refusing, she begins to confess her deep affection for Zhong Xi Wu, and Zhong Xi Wu reciprocates those feelings.

However, Mr. Hua’s interference causes Hua Qian to run away from her wedding day, resulting in serious injuries and a coma.

With his deep love for Hua Qian, Zhong Xi Wu uses the unique Jia Yin Menggui Pill to save her life.

Hua Qian enters another dream, where she reevaluates her feelings and acknowledges the sincerity of Zhong Xi Wu’s love. Their bond grows stronger as they learn from the past misunderstandings and dreams that have shaped them.

This dream trip becomes a means of salvation for both of them. This helps them to understand each other better and let go of their past mistakes.

Hua Qian realizes that love should not be forced on someone; it must grow naturally. The dream world has brought clarity to their feelings.

Finally, Hua Qian woke up from her coma, having been cared for by Zhong Xi Wu for more than two years. He boldly took her hand, and Zhong Xi Wu confessed his feelings, saying, “I like you, and that was earlier than when you fell in love with big brother”. “No matter what, I won’t give up.”

The drama ends on a touching note, highlighting the burgeoning love story between Hua Qian and Zhong Xi Wu. It underscores that love, patience, and understanding can overcome even the toughest obstacles. End!

Scent of Time Chinese Drama Review and Ending Explained

Scent of Time Review

I’m picky about the shows I watch but this one caught my attention. Scent of Time is a Chinese drama that exceeded all my expectations and proved to be great. Of the many reincarnation or time travel storylines I’ve watched, this particular C-drama works.

From the first episode to the last, it unfolds as a well-crafted and beautifully executed masterpiece. The show cleverly dropped hints throughout the series, keeping us engaged, and ensuring we wouldn’t be disappointed.

The depiction of internal family dynamics in this drama is also very touching and stands out as one of the most touching scenes I have seen in a C-drama recently.

For the characters here, all the characters are morally gray. Nobody is perfect, everyone makes mistakes and learns their lessons.

The perspective is well done for each character, at all times the audience can clearly understand each person’s motives – good or bad – which makes this drama very human and realistic.

I really liked the exploration of the past and present in this drama which allowed the main character, Hua Qian to experience significant character development.

Here we can see Hua Qian transform from a character who has committed evil deeds to someone who corrects his mistakes in his second life. We can clearly see how he acts differently and changes things.

The other characters are also very good. All the characters are well-developed and fleshed out, no one does anything stupid for no reason. I also enjoyed all the supporting characters, especially the girls.

The romance here is quite good, but I would really like it if there were more romantic scenes between the male and female leads. Won’t comment anymore on the romance!

The acting, Zhou Ye who plays Hua Qian is very good. He showed different emotions and interpreted his role well.

Wang Xing Yue who plays the character Zhong Xi Wu is also good and is able to play the role of unrequited love convincingly. He is also very handsome with his dashing face and broad shoulders.

Peng Chu Yue as Zhong Ye Lan is also good with the way she is cold, and aloof and doesn’t express her feelings much like she shows in the drama. He always has a poker face even when he should be worried, angry, etc.

Meanwhile, Zhao Qing and Zhang Yi Jie are also good. They did their job well. The other supporting actors are also very good and nothing is too much.

So is this drama worth watching? It’s worth it because there are many things you can take from this series, one of which is correcting our mistakes and we can no longer go back to what we have done but continue on the right path.

My Verdict

Overall, this Scent of Time drama is worth watching. With a compelling storyline, great acting, and outstanding production quality it makes it a must-watch for anyone who appreciates the best in storytelling and entertainment.

Another thing that impressed me about this series is that you will get the lesson that the mistakes you have made cannot be repaired and all you can do is continue your life as a devout person.

I can’t mention everything, just that it’s great and highly recommended to watch, you won’t regret it. Many people don’t like the ending but for me, it’s okay because the story is realistic and not a complete fantasy. I would easily give Scent of Time Chinese drama a rating of 8.8/10
