Synopsis and Plot Summary
The story follows Gu Yun Zheng, a professor of neurosurgery, on a medical aid mission in the (fictional) North African country of Lakaya.
There he meets Su Wei An, a student who has left her medical career to become a businessman. They don’t get along at first, but working side by side softens their feelings towards each other.
However, Gu Yun Zheng was devastated when he found out that Su Wei An carried a rare gene for Huntington’s disease which is difficult to cure.
Determined to save the woman he loves, Yun Zheng decides to give up his promising career and devote his life to researching a cure for Huntington’s disease. He worked tirelessly to find a cure. Will this brilliant doctor find a way to cure the incurable disease before it’s too late?
Love Is Panacea Chinese Drama Ending Explained
Love Is Panacea Chinese drama has a happy ending. At the end of the episode, Wen Ran was caught eavesdropping by Du Yun Cheng and was frightened. Despite that, she pretended to be calm and suggested that Du Yun Cheng take her away. Wen Ra with her acting prowess, managed to trick Du Yun Cheng.
Upon returning home, Wen Ran immediately sought help from Professor Wen, assuming that Du Yun Cheng’s current research was an improved version of HDQ39.
Wen Ran also said that Du Yun Cheng faked the banned foreign medicines, resulting in fatal consequences.
After that Wen Ran also asked Su Wei An for help to persuade Du Yun Cheng to stop. Despite her arrogance, Wen Ran never intended to commit morally reprehensible actions.
Currently, Du Yun Cheng plans to sell the laboratory serum to foreign laboratories, thereby posing a significant threat to national security by leaking China’s genetic information. Su Wei An then suggested a plan to avoid this.
On the day of the transaction, Wen Ran followed Du Yun Cheng to a remote warehouse. At that time, Gu Yun Zheng and Su Wei An had coordinated with the police to arrest Du Yun Cheng.
However, Du Yun Cheng showed no remorse when captured and instead stated he would do anything for Su Wei An. He accused Gu Yun Zheng of stealing his family and ruining his happiness.
Gu Yun Zheng exposed Cui Jie’s identity as a third party, stating that he was a truly poor child. Du Yun Cheng was imprisoned and eventually sentenced to fifteen years in prison.
Several days passed, Gu Yun Zheng and Su Wei An were preparing for their wedding, handing out invitations to everyone in the hospital except Du Yong Song, making him very sad.
Du Yong Song realizes the harm he caused Gu Yun Zheng and hopes that father and son can reconcile. However, Gu Yun Zheng remained cold, unable to forgive him at least for now.
As the wedding approached, Su Weian felt nervous. Gu Yunzheng assured her that as long as she was willing to marry him, this would be a beautiful memory in the future.
Not long after, the couple had a grand wedding, dancing hand in hand in front of friends and family, leaving everyone in tears.
Du Yong Song, uninvited, watched from a distance, not wanting to disturb the party atmosphere. The joy of this wedding had nothing to do with him, and he left with a bag of wedding candy, lonely and sad.

Love Is Panacea Chinese Drama Review
Love is Panacea is a Chinese romance drama about a prominent and intelligent doctor who falls in love with his student. However, this may not be everyone’s cup of tea because the story itself is far from typical romance.
To be honest, I watched this because of Luo Yunxi and Zhang Rou Nan. I had more expectations for this drama, remembering that “Love is Sweet” and “Till the End of the Moon” starring Luo Yunxi were very impressive.
But this is very different, here it is not dramatic, comedic, or romantic, and does not give us an emotional roller-coaster like in other Luo Yunxi dramas.
The plot revolves around Huntington’s Disease which Dr. Gu Yun Zheng to find a cure for his girlfriend Su Wei An’s recovery and find a way to help people suffering from Huntington’s disease.
Even though the story is quite convincing, you won’t be able to binge-watch it or get addicted because of its flatness, low adrenaline, and relaxing atmosphere.
This drama was written more as a contemplation. So, to enjoy it, you need to manage your expectations first. Watch slowly to understand the idea, don’t rush. I did that to understand this drama.
In terms of acting and character, Luo Yunxi who plays the character Gu Yun Zheng is very good and I don’t think it’s a difficult thing for him.
He suited up as an outstanding doctor and professor in his white coat, conference attire, and doctor attire, but also with his restrained yet empathetic performance towards Su Wei An and his various patients.
Meanwhile, Zhang Ruonan is also good at playing Su Wei An, a girl whose heartache, despair, and longing are secretly masked by words and actions that seem careless, thoughtless, and rude. She succeeded here.
For chemistry, Luo Yunxi and Zhang Ruonan have it. They are quite convincing and good. I didn’t expect more and didn’t comment more.
The thing that I think is lacking here is the plot which they try to make everything more exciting and dangerous, but the delivery is very bad.
Furthermore, some annoying characters such as the spoiled Wen Ran who only has a father who spoils him and is also manipulative. I got carried away several times with Wen Ran and that means Qian Di Di succeeded in playing this character.
Apart from that, Love is Panacea is a drama that is definitely worth watching because of its realistic depiction of medical research life and the chemistry of the main cast.

Overall, Love is Panacea is a good Chinese medical drama with a realistic depiction of medical research life, chemistry, and convincing acting from the main cast. Nothing explosive or bombastic, just a drama that takes a slice of life and infuses it with warmth and sincerity. So, for this Love Is Panacea Chinese drama review, I would give it a score of 8/10.
